Overview
The Three Cities - Vittoriosa, Senglea and Cospicua - were built in the 16th century by the Knights of St John and offer a fascinating insight into Malta's in-depth history as well as providing a glimpse into the current way of life on the Mediterranean island.
Beginning with a drive past Cospicua you will reach the architectural masterpiece of Vittoriosa for a walking tour through the narrow streets. Look out for the Old Naval Bakery, the Church of St Lawrence and the Knights' auberges - their original lodgings.
Next up, board a typical boat (Dghajsa) and take to the water for a tour of the abundant colourful creeks, yacht-filled marinas and abundant inlets that make up this photogenic harbour.
Finally, take in the spectacular vista from Senglea Garden, situated at the tip of the peninsula, where you will enjoy stunning 360° views of the Grand Harbour, including the impressive Fort Sant Angelo from where Grand Master La Valette led the defense of the island during the Great Siege of 1565.
