Enjoy a visit to the beautiful Blue Grotto and explore Marsaxlokk, one of southern Malta's few unspoilt villages.
Your first stop on the tour will be at the Blue Grotto, which is one in a series of caverns at which everyday, until approximately 1pm, a unique phenomenon occurs. The location of the Blue Grotto, together with strong sunlight reflecting off the water, leads to the cavern shining with the phosphorescent colours of the underwater flora. Other nearby caverns glow a deeper, darker shade of blue. It is little surprise that the Blue Grotto, where scenes from the Brad Pitt film 'Troy' were filmed, is a very popular tourist destination.
Next, you'll visit the fishing village of Marsaxlokk whose waterfront is lined with ‘Luzzus’, Maltese fishing boats, painted in traditional reds, blues and yellows that add colour to this peaceful bay, once the site of the first Turkish landing during the Great Siege of 1565.
Here you can also enjoy free time to spend browsing around the local market stalls before the return journey.
Please note: Occasionally actual days of operation are subject to change. If this is the case we will endeavour to book a day as close as possible to your original preferred day. Should this not be acceptable a full refund will be made.
